Tokyo DisneySea 20th Anniversary “Time to Shine!” Celebration Commencing September 4th, 2021 through September 3rd, 2022
After a brief tease on Saturday, the Oriental Land Company has finally announced the plans for Tokyo DisneySea’s 20th Anniversary celebration, with the theme “Time to Shine!” starting September 4th!
Tokyo DisneySea opened on September 4, 2001 as the only Disney Park themed to the sea. During this special year of celebration, all of the overflowing feelings of joy, happiness, dreams and hopes of Guests, Cast Members and Disney friends will add even more sparkle and shine to this unique Park!
To highlight the 20th anniversary event, Mickey & Friends Harbor Greeting ‘Time to Shine!’ will be presented on the waters of Mediterranean Harbor. Dressed in sparkling costumes themed to the anniversary, Mickey Mouse and his friends will greet guests from aboard a boat decorated with the anniversary logo. The Disney friends will invite the guests to chant along to the new theme song and celebrate the 20th anniversary together!
Special decorations around the AquaSphere and in Passaggio MiraCosta will also welcome guests as they enter the park.
Featuring designs of Mickey Mouse and the Disney friends that invites guests to the world of Time to Shine!, plush toys, apparel, and other merchandise will be available to make the 20th anniversary celebration even more delightful. Additionally, exclusive personalized items and other merchandise only available in limited quantities will also be found at the during the anniversary. All merchandise goes on sale September 4th, 2021.
Also to commemorate the 20th anniversary, “Duffy and Friends Starry Dreams” merchandise featuring Duffy and friends traveling through a starry sky will be available starting September 3rd.
With the Seasonal Taste Selections program, select restaurants in the park will be given a common theme perfect for the season. Guests can enjoy menu items based on this theme, which will highlight the chefs’ skills and showcase the unique characteristics of each restaurant. Also, the ever-popular churros will be available in a 20th anniversary special version along with a special drink. Lunch cases, cups and other food souvenir items featuring the 20th anniversary designs and those themed to Duffy & Friends can be enjoyed as well.
The festive atmosphere of the 20th anniversary celebration will even be found outside the park. Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta will also mark its 20th anniversary, and celebrate with special menu items at its restaurants and banquet rooms. And at the Tokyo Disney Celebration Hotel, amenities with special designs will be offered for a limited time.
In addition, Disney Resort Line will offer day passes in a special design to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Tokyo DisneySea.
No word yet on further offerings or on the previously-announced Believe! Sea of Dreams nighttime show, still presumably tied to the anniversary celebration.
