Calling all our American VacationEARS, If you want to head to Disneyland Paris once it reopens this year — there is a way you can travel to the magic, and France as a whole as early as this summer!
At the moment, aside from the fact that Disneyland Paris Resort is currently closed, Americans cannot travel to France right now as it is currently undergoing the countries third lockdown since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Disneyland Paris was meant to reopen on April 2, but the announcement of the third lockdown pushed that reopening date back, and now, the theme park is set to become a massive vaccination center from Saturday the 24th of April, similar to what was seen at Disneyland Resort in California.
However, once Disneyland Paris does reopen, American Disney fans may want to venture over to France to meet a French Mickey Mouse and experience what Europe’s most popular theme park has to offer, that they can’t get at home.
According to Forbes, Americans who have either been fully vaccinated or present a negative COVID-19 test will be allowed to travel to France with a “special pass”.
From this news, it also sounds like there is a chance that Disneyland Paris could be reopening as early as May! Although nothing has been said, President Macron’s goal to progressively lift restrictions could apply to both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.
Disneyland Paris’ website does note that they are optimistic that they can reopen soon, so we will have our fingers crossed that it will be able to join the ranks of the other Disney Resorts worldwide which have reopened, with Disneyland in California getting ready to also reopen as of April 30.
Even while they have been closed, however, Disneyland Paris has been hard at work. With refurbishments underway on the castle, to a new meet and greet system that will allow Guests to schedule interactions with their favorite characters, there is plenty to see and do at Disneyland Paris, which poses as the perfect incentive for American’s who would like to travel this summer.
