Disney Celebrates First World Princess Week

Do you or your kiddos love Disney princesses? Then you’re really going to love the first-ever World Princess Week, which kicks off today, August 23rd. It’s part of Disney’s 15-month Ultimate Princess Celebration, which spotlights “the courage and kindness of the Disney heroines.” And you don’t even have to go to a Disney park to get in on the fun.

Here are some of the festivities you can enjoy during World Princess Week:

Watch a new YouTube series – Disney is launching a new series called “Courage and Kindness Club.” It features Disney Princesses showing how families and fans can be kind and brave in their own daily lives.

Read a new book – Disney is also introducing new titles in honor of World Princess Week, including a rom-com reimagining of “Cinderella” called “If the Shoe Fits.” There’s also “The Disney Princess Cookbook,” with 50 kid-friendly recipes and “12 Days of Princess,” a holiday-inspired picture book.

The first ever World Princess week will be celebrated this week by Disney. At Disney Parks around the globe, there will be different celebrations happening. The celebration will include unique offerings in the parks, digital content from Disney, merchandise, and more! Here is a look at what has been announced so far for this celebration:

Walt Disney World

First off today, August 23 there will be a brand new Tiana-themed playground at the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. There will also be themed food and beverages found throughout Walt Disney World.

They will be inspired by the 14 Disney princesses and Frozen queens. On August 26th at the Disney Springs Marketplace, bring little princesses between 2 pm and 6 pm to participate in the Princess Promenade at the AdventHealth Waterside Stage. Also at Disney Springs, there will be three art expression walls.

These will be themed to the “Tales of Courage and Kindness” storybook collection. At the various Disney Resorts throughout Walt Disney World, Movies Under the Stars will be featuring a line-up of Disney Princess movies.

Disneyland

Disneyland will also be celebrating World Princess Week as well. Starting on August 26th, Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures will return to Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort & Spa. Reservations are now available for this experience.

Over in the park, Snow White’s Enchanted Adventure is now delighting guests with the magical enhancements it recently has received.

Along the parade route, catch Queens Anna and Elsa on their float as they wave at guests and music from Frozen is played.

Over at Downtown Disney District, stop by California Sole for a pair of Disney Princess Havaianas. Stop by and get a Raspberry Cream Macaron at Kayla’s Cake next, a perfect royal treat. At the LEGO Store, check out the new Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana’s Story Book Adventure, which is a LEGO set with a Princess Storybook. Also make sure to stop by and check out the Moana photo op that features Moana artwork from the “Tales of Courage and Kindness” storybook collection.

runDisney

Starting on August 24th, the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend races go on sale. This event will take place during Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary and will include challenges for runners of all levels. It will also include some pretty awesome princess-inspired medals.

Disneyland Paris

There will also be entertainment, sweet treats, and other surprises for Worldwide Princess Week at Disneyland Paris. Guests will be able to see Disney princesses out like Jasmine, Merida, and Frozen queens Anna and Elsa. There will also be some new exclusive Selfie Spots and Magic Shots available to create some magical royal memories. There will also be some merchandise around for the week as well to celebrate! Hong Kong Disneyland

Guests visiting Hong Kong Disneyland will get to see some favorite Disney Princess heroes throughout the celebration. Also, from August 23 through August 29th, gusts may hear the new Ultimate Princess Celebration anthem Starting Now sung by global superstar and Grammy Award-winning recording artist Brandy.

Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa

The celebration also will be happening in Hawaii at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. While there say hi to Moana who has again returned to Aulani. It wouldn’t be a tropical celebration without a Moana Dole Whip Fresh Fruit Sundae also. This includes DOLE Whip pineapple inside a crispy waffle bowl. It is topped with fresh pineapple, sprinkles, and a white chocolate image of Moana herself. There are also is the Chocolate Dipped Banana with Macadamia Nuts that features an image of Moana made of white chocolate at Little ‘Opihi’s.

New Products and Digital Offerings

There will also be a plethora of new products and digital offerings released during this special celebration. Products will be launched that includes Enchanted Disney Fine Jewelry, Lokai and Love Your Melon, all of which emphasize kindness through charitable giving. Additional products from Hasbro, JAKKS Pacific, the LEGO Group, Funko, ColourPop Cosmetics and others will also hit retailers globally.

There will also be the Disney Designer Collection Princess Doll from shopDisney.com that will launch each month, with 12 designs. This will start with Princess Jasmine in October. There will also be two new Disney nuiMOs Launched, Ariel and Jasmine.

Pandora Jewelry is also joining in the celebration with charms featuring Cinderella, Tiana, and Jasmine.

The Princess Loungewear collection will also launch on shopDisney.com along with at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort just in time for World Princess Week on Aug. 23.

World Princess Week is also being celebrated on the Blitz-tastic mobile game, Disney Emoji Blitz! As part of the festivities, they are running a brand-new Pocahontas Villain event August 18-22. Then, be sure to log in on Aug. 23 to collect one FREE “Frozen” Emoji: Queen Elsa or Queen Anna! As events and missions are completed, players will automatically collect Princess Tokens all month long, which can earn lead to the earning of Disney Princess Emojis including Belle, Rapunzel, Tiana, Moana, Jasmine, Ariel and Cinderella. There will also be some new books released. These include:

Starting on August 23, shopDisney’s Ultimate Princess Celebration Hotline will be launching in the US. This will have all-new recorded messages from five Disney Princesses. Finally, on Disney Channel there will be an all-new music special. Disney Princess Remixed – An Ultimate Princess Celebration will air on Friday, August 27 at 7:30 PM EDT/PDT. This half hour special will celebrate all the empowering attributes ground in Disney princesses and also the Frozen queens. This will include new versions of their songs. GRAMMY Award-winning recording artist Brandy will also be debuting her new music video for Starting Now. This program will also be available on Disney+ in the United States and in some select markets on the same day.

Throughout the week, also keep your eyes open on Disney’s social media for more updates about what will be happening. There will also be a TikTok live from Aulani with Moana to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Aulani on August 25th.
